Abstract

The developments of smart polymer biomaterials for tissue engineering (TE) are summarized in this chapter. Smart polymer biomaterials can adjust some of their features as a reaction to the change in pH, temperature, light, or magnetic power. The type and various applications of natural and synthetic smart biomaterials in TE are discussed in detail. Smart polymer biomaterials indicate several benefits due to their stimuli-responsive properties, which makes them more useful. The future prospects of the modified smart polymer biomaterials for TE are also introduced.
