Best Paper Award to Dr Shah from Geosciences, FOS

Dr Afroz Shah from the Geosciences Programme, FOS, has been awarded the best paper in Track 15. Structural Geology, Tectonics and Geodynamics, Petroleum Geology at Mediterranean Geosciences Union (MedGU) 2023, Istanbul, Turkey. Mr Muhammad Gazali Rachman, Shah’s PhD student in Geosciences, co-authors the paper along with their research collaborator, Dr Ashar Muda Lubis from the University of Bengkulu Indonesia. The study shows new evidence and causes for the ~180-degree turn of the Banda Arc system in SE Asia.
